Daniel Cossins

Bio

Daniel Cossins is head of features. He has been a features editor at New Scientist for 7 years. He previously worked as a staff writer at The Scientist magazine in the US and BBC Magazines in Bristol, UK. He has a degree in History and an MA in Historical Research, both from the University of Sheffield. He focusses mainly on the physical sciences – particularly cosmology, particle physics, condensed matter, and material science – but also writes and edits feature-length stories on everything from consciousness and avian vocal mimicry to the quest to decipher the lost language of the Incas encoded in intricately knotted cords.
